We often encounter similar questions from our clientele. In case you were going to ask, here is a list of the most frequently asked questions about our bed and breakfast.

Check In/Check Out

What time is check-in?
Check-in is at 3:00 p.m. Late arrivals can be accommodated by speaking with the innkeeper for instructions regarding entry into both the house and your room. Arrangements for early check-in to drop off bags and pick up keys are available. We request that all guests telephone ahead before their arrival to confirm their specific check-in time.

Can I access my room early?
We are happy to accommodate early arrivals if it is possible for our rooms to be turned from prior guests. We generally need the time between 11 a.m. (check-out) and 3 p.m. (check-in) to get the rooms ready.

What time is checkout?
Checkout is at 11:00 a.m. If you need a later checkout, please speak to innkeeper as we need time to prepare the room for the next guests to arrive.

Payment

Do I have to leave a credit card number even if I pay cash?
Yes, we must have credit card on file for incidentals and security.

Do I need to give a credit card number even if I am using a gift certificate?
Yes, our reservation program will not take a reservation without a credit card. It is mandatory for ALL reservations even if using a prepaid gift certificate.

Does The Stockade Bed and Breakfast offer discounts?
Yes, but they must be requested at the time the reservation is made.

Military, Police and Firefighters Discount: $10/night, Sunday – Thursday. Please add your Military, Police or Firefighters ID/Badge number in the SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS BOX at the time of making your reservation. NOTE: Not available during special events or holidays, and citywide convention dates. (Military, Police, or Firefighters ID/Badges must be presented upon check-in). Cannot be combined with any other discount.

AARP, AAA: $10/night, Sunday – Thursday. Please add your AARP or AAA number in the SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS BOX at the time of making your reservation. (Membership card must be presented upon check-in). Cannot be combined with any other discount. NOTE: Not available during special events or holidays, and citywide convention dates.

Breakfast

What time is breakfast?
During the week, breakfast is served from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
On the weekend, it is served at 9:00 a.m.
It is helpful for the cook to know your breakfast time so that the food is hot and fresh!

Is breakfast included in my stay?
Yes. Each morning we serve a hot breakfast, which changes daily. Since this is a bed and breakfast, you will not be given a menu, but you will have various prepared items to choose from on our buffet. A continental breakfast is available any day of the week.

Can you accommodate special dietary needs?
Yes, with advance notice. If you have special dietary needs, it is imperative that you inform us of your needs when you make your reservation. We may not be able to accommodate last-minute dietary needs.

Do you have Wi-Fi?
Yes, we offer complimentary Wi-Fi. Just ask for the guest code when you check in.

Where is The Stockade Bed and Breakfast located in relationship to Downtown Baton Rouge?
We are located 9 miles south of Downtown Baton Rouge. Downtown Baton Rouge is NOT within walking distance. You will need a car as our transit system is not always reliable.

How far is The Stockade Bed and Breakfast from LSU (Louisiana State University)?
LSU Tiger Stadium is 5 miles to the northwest of The Stockade Bed and Breakfast. For most, it is NOT within walking distance. If you need information about parking at LSU, click here.

New Orleans – 75 miles
Lafayette, LA – 63 miles
Alexandria, LA – 133 miles
Houma, LA – 102 miles
Plantations along Mississippi River: Nearest (Houmas House) is 25 miles. Other plantations are located along the Mississippi, on each side of the river.

Miscellaneous

Do you have handicap accommodations?
Our Escape Room is handicapped accessible and fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Escape Room has a private bathroom which has a shower. Our breakfast room may be reached by persons in a wheelchair, but our living room requires guests to descend a few steps for access. Please advise us at the time you make your reservations if you have special needs.

Is there parking on site?
Yes, we have complimentary onsite parking on our grounds in front of the house.

I will be traveling on a motorcycle. Is there a cement pad where I may park it?
Yes.

Is there a place for smoking?
The Stockade Bed and Breakfast is a non-smoking establishment, however, there is a covered area for smoking outside the inn.

What do I do if I lose or can’t find my key?
Just call the main number (225-281-7358) or (225) 489-8055 and someone will assist you.

Are there any curfews at The Stockade Bed and Breakfast?
Each guest has a front door combination and a room key, so you may come and go as you wish. We do ask that you be mindful of other guests when you enter and leave the premises.

Will my room be cleaned every day?
We will perform a daily service each day which will include making the bed, emptying trash cans, cleaning the coffee area, cleaning the bathroom and resupplying towels.

Is lunch and dinner available at The Stockade Bed and Breakfast?
We do not provide any meals other than breakfast. Sammy’s Grill is located across the street and there are other nearby restaurants.

Is there a sitting area in the home other than the guest rooms?
Yes, there is a living room with seating.
