Sour Cream Frosting

This frosting is delicious and only has a few ingredients.Brown cake with white frosting

Ingredients:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup sour cream, room temperature
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Pinch salt
4 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

  • Add the softened butter to a bowl and beat with a mixer until butter is light and fluffy, scraping down the bowl as needed – about 3 minutes.
  • Add the sour cream, vanilla and salt. Continue mixing until the mixture is smooth.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar with the mixer on low speed. Beat until the frosting is creamy and the desired consistency is achieved, scraping down the sides occasionally.
  • Spread on chocolate, red velvet, carrot cake or cupcakes.
